So, it turns out that subcutaneous injections are a tiny bit more advanced than the pre-filled syringes I'd been using. One of my clever pharmacists, Aamir, convinced me not to stick myself. I've now figured out that you need to be aware of bubbles and blood with these pesky and deeper injections.
The conversation at the pharmacy went like this and I think that Aamir might have found it challenging:
Me: Hi, I need an empty needle and a poker for this vial please.
Aamir: No problem. It is 1.7ml so I'll get you a 5 ml syringe.
Me: Thanks, so how hard is this really? Easy right?
Aamir: No. It is advanced and you should not do it.
Me: I watched a Youtube video, so I could do it right?
Aamir: NO....(big sigh). Okay Cail, I sold you this medication yesterday right? You know how much it costs right? Don't do it because if you mess up it is a costly mistake.
Me: Okay Aamir, now you are speaking my language. I will not give myself the injection.
Aamir: Good, you can have the needle for free then but I'm charging you next time (tiny smile.)
I guess he felt like he had a victory, of sorts. So I made an appointment with my GP, she injected my tricep fat and she was fantastic..... and didn't even charge me either. It was a good day.
Get ready for a recipe!!!
Love,
Cail
p.s. I bet Aamir would love it if I took his picture for this blog; I'll ask him next time I'm at the pharmacy :).

What love looks like
A few night ago, I went to Mum and Kitty's dad's house for dinner and it was delicious. Then, when Kill and I got home dad had left a bag of onions, basil, fresh pasta, tiger balm and crushed tomatoes for us. I'm pretty sure that that's what love looks like. I sure felt loved and full of food.
I've feel that love is when people do things that they aren't required to do but do because they want your life to be better. When you start noticing, there's actually a lot of love in your day. Like Kill leaving lentil soup cooking on the stove when I wake up so that I can take my chemo with food easily or Kill's mum telling me that she'll handle the flowers at our wedding because she could tell that my eyes were crossing out of confusion. People are nice pretty often and when I'm not playing too many video games alone (they make people sad, I think) or out at the bar where shiny, happy people* go then I can notice it all.
Side note: I also recently got a vial of medicine from the pharmacy instead of a syringe and now I have to figure out how to use it. Any suggestions? Obviously, I'm going to go get a needle and fill it up but then how do I avoid air bubbles? I'll probably just Youtube how to do heroin and take my cue from them, voice of experience right? Has anyone besides Elle done this before? DarthTim? SuSu? The vial is between my middle and pointer and the pre-filled syringe is between my thumb and pointer finger. Also, the green needle costs 200$ more than the vial but I bet that the empty needles are cheap.
I'm crafty.
*Shiny, happy people are dressed up, beautiful, illness free and sometimes, I feel jealous of them. Kill tells me that I needn't be though because I'm lovelier than all the other girls but it's still hard sometimes when they swing their long hair and their straight backs around. Damn, those straight backs; I used to be one of them.
