Biopsies are easy

Yesterday, I had a core biopsy which is a procedure that they use a hollow needle to take some little chunks of a tumour for analysis. Although it sounds scary, it's really not and it was over in a half hour. Also the girls there were lovely and one of them, Kelly, even let me photograph her after my mammogram.

Core biopsies are either sonogram or mammogram aided, which means that they use these machines to find the right spot. These pictures are of my biopsy site and the mammogram machine although, women over 40 already know exactly what one looks like! I explained to my stepdad last night that mammograms aren't quite as bad as if a man's testicles were squished between two plastic plates but it's pretty unpleasant. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10 on the pain scale (0 being great joy and 10 being hyperventilating/black-out/childbirth pain).

I think that things are always worse in your mind than they really are which, is why I like to post pictures so that people can see how simple it really is. Today, I'm going vintage wedding dress shopping and I'm mailing a letter to grandma Lavendar. I am especially proud of grandma Sanka today, who posted on the blog with the help of JoJo, my aunt!

In Calgary, Alberta it is a Red River cereal, craisins and soy milk for breakfast kind of day and that is exactly what I'm having :).
