Back from the love shack (because I was filled up with love)

Well  my sweeties,

It has been so long since I've blogged and I really missed it. I had a few people tell me that they missed the blog (like Bella's mom) and it made me feel super well liked, like I just got asked for an autograph :).

In the Kootenays, Kill had a break from being my main caregiver and we had mucho fun. My grandparents, Posie and the aunties loved me and fed me lots of food. Although, I didn't fatten up to my grandmothers standards, it was fantastic.

Last weekend I even tried to go camping for the first time since my back breaks (it turns out that there were two vertebral breaks and that they were staggered, which is why I felt so frustrated). Camping was fabulous! Kill made our Honda Element comfy and we slept very well. I even played bocce with our friends and ate bannock. I can think of no better way to spend a few days. I was a little worried about camping but we tried it and it worked! That's life, you've got to try.

While we were away, I heard the best story about a family friend who is in her fifties now. She is this cool, relaxed woman who had a tumour wrapped around her spine, in her twenties, that was removed. For a period afterwards she was paralysed from the waist down but she kept trying to regain her movement. Eventually she did, she had another baby and her spine compensated for areas that were removed. I've known this lady for a decade and never knew about this part of her life. I am really impressed and think that she is someone "who thinks she can". I like that she has recovered so well that you would not know that she has some removed spinal bones unless she told you. Those are my favourite type of human beings, strong in spirit, motivated and brave. They rarely complain because they feel fairly happy with their life. I want to be just like them and I will.

I missed you all and I'm searching for a good recipe for this week!

p.s. My friend Eagle Scout (his internet name), told me that I currently have the hair of which famous 80's musician? Winner gets to choose their own internet name even if I've already assigned them one.

And the winner is.... mom, who will now be known as super boss mom (just kidding she hasn't picked yet). Porb, MadamPorb is an excellent name although it is a little brothelly. How about DuchessPorb... which was your back-up?

p.s. Kayla, I'm home :)
